For this reason, we recommend the Hiblow linear air pumps. The Hiblow diaphragms are very durable and can withstand the higher back pressures they will be subject to in your septic system. Further, the Hiblow air pumps have an internal safety switch designed to activate when the diaphragms start to fail, saving and prolonging the life of all the other internal components of your pump. When the switch activates, the pump shuts down until you replace your diaphragms which I might add is very simple to do in a Hiblow air pump. Very few linear air pumps have this important feature. Without this safety device, your pump would continue to run with failing diaphragms that could throw your shuttle out of alignment and permanently damage your pump.
