SEA Solar Passive Hot Water Heater Un-pressurized SEA un-pressurized solar water heater system also known as a mono-bloc (thermo-siphon system) a compact system consists of a storage tank for the heated water and a solar vacuum tube collector all mounted on one structure. The water flows upward when heated in the panel. When this water enters the tank (positioned higher than the solar panel), it use the thermo-siphon principle to have the heated water remains at the top storage tank, so that heat transfer takes place without the need for a pump. A typical system with a 40G or 50G at a sunny region can serve 3-4 person home, with 15 or 18 vacuum tubes collector. Each tank is made of thick coated galvanized steel exterior and patent porcelain enamel coating liner (Golden Dark-Blue Diamond Coating). Each tank is insulated with high density polyurethane for maximum heat retention. Also available are copper coil as the heat exchange collector loop. The pressurized solar water tanks could be placed in series with the existing hot water heater that uses electric, gas, oil, or wood to heat water (which now could be used as a backup heating system providing extra hot water storage capacity). When the water temperature is up to 140°F, the existing water heater remains off.
