For this reason, we recommend the Hiblow linear air pumps. The Hiblow diaphragms are very durable and can withstand the higher back pressures they will be subject to in your septic system. Further, the Hiblow air pumps have an internal safety switch designed to activate when the diaphragms start to fail, saving and prolonging the life of all the other internal components of your pump. When the switch activates, the pump shuts down until you replace your diaphragms which I might add is very simple to do in a Hiblow air pump. Very few linear air pumps have this important feature. Without this safety device, your pump would continue to run with failing diaphragms that could throw your shuttle out of alignment and permanently damage your pump. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Not all air pumps are the same and not all air pumps will fit your aerobic system. Aerobic systems are designed and approved with not only a specific size air pump but a specific brand as well. It is imperative that you get the right size and right kind of pump as a replacement for your system. Too big of an air pump and the diffusers distributing the air inside the tank will not handle the excessive air flow causing pre-mature pump failures. Too small an air pump and the wastewater cannot be processed adequately causing pre-mature failure of your septic system. As we mentioned earlier the whip hose take some pressure off your wrist. The swivel’s job is to help prevent the hose from twisting or kinking up. While you are spraying the hose will get loops in it that you will constantly have to grab the gun and twist it around to prevent looping. The gun swivel will make that easier to manage.
